MEET MY BABY!!! THIS IS DIVA...
This is the time of the year where you get reminded to be thankful for the blessings that God has bestowed upon you. This year I have much to be thankful for even though it will be a somber Turkey day for me and my family. We will definitely enjoy the company of our extended family as we all travel to Minnesota... but it will be sad as we will all gather there for my grandpa's funeral.
Bumpa passed on Veteran's day... an appropriate day for such a patriotic vet. He was the leader of the pack... the foundation of our family. He was hilarious, adventurous and strong. He was loving, he was inspiring, and he was incredibly smart. I just can't say enough wonderful things about him... words do an injustice to how amazing my grandpa was.
This thanksgiving I am more than grateful to have been blessed with the time I did have with such an incredible man. My grandpa was the greatest. As we have been gearing up to celebrate his life we were shocked this weekend when we got a phone call from my aunt on Saturday... My cousin Brian was rushed to the ICU. We found out later that night that at just 33 years old... my cousin passed away. Just 12 days after my grandpa.
Brian was such a compassionate and caring person... he had the biggest heart. He was a paramedic who had a zest for life and adventure. He had a laugh that was so contagious. He was so smart, calm cool and collected in all situations... he was such a warm and fun person to be around... I am so thankful that we were blessed to have him in our lives.
This thanksgiving I will be thanking God for my family... you only get one of them ya know... I am thankful for the impact that my grandpa and my cousin had on our entire family. This thanksgiving I know my family will enjoy each other's company... as we remember Bumpa and Brian... how they made us laugh, how they inspired us, how they blessed us.
IT'S STARTING TO LOOK SPOOOOOKY AROUND OUR HOUSE!!!
I love decorating for the holidays and this year I tried something different with my front door and on the balcony of the 2nd floor of our house... I saw the ideas on pinterest and after a trip to the craft store... here's what they ended up lookin' like!!!!
Also I have started to take some of my Halloween decorations out of the boxes and have started to make some progress on spooooookin' out the inside... I know I have a long way to go but I am excited the HOLIDAY SEASON is here so I wanted to share :)
We had a game night at our house on Saturday and had a bunch of friends over. I looovvve me a game night!!! We played a new game that my friend brought over and I have to say.... it was terrible and hilarious and awesome all rolled in to one!!! It's called "Cards Against Humanity" and it's definitely a grown-ups game lol.
If you are looking for a lot of laughs and you and your friends have great senses of humor you will totally love this game. Scott and I have the greatest friends I was happy to have such a fun time with them this weekend!! :)
